Michelle Occhipinti

Michelle Occhipinti is co-owner and artistic director of Occhipinti
Dance Co.  Born and raised in Moscow, Michelle was trained locally for 17
years by area dance teachers.  She served as a class demonstrator, a
classroom teacher, choreographer, and an assistant artistic director throughout
her years of training.  At this time, she is currently training to receive
her Dance Masters teaching certificate from Dance Masters of America.
Michelle teaches pre-ballet, classical ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical at the
Occhipinti Dance Company.

Michelle is also a first grade teacher for the North Pocono School
District.  Michelle is a graduate of the North Pocono School
District.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
and her Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of
Scranton.  Michelle was a member of two honors societies, Alpha Lamda
Delta and Kappa Delta Pi, while attending the University of Scranton.  In
2008, Michelle received the Teacher of the Year award from a student nomination
at the Academy Street School.

Michelle has performed in many local community events including the annual
Jaycees Santa Parade, United Neighborhood Centers Mardi Gras, the American Red
Cross Auction, the Radisson’s Princess Tea, the Black and Blue Ball for MD, the
Moscow Country Fair, and at many area nursing homes.  Michelle was also
the founder of Music Notes, a private music studio in the Moscow Area.
Michelle taught private piano lessons for over 10 years to many children from
the community.

Michelle has dedicated her life to teaching children and will continue to
strive to give her gift of dance and music to the North Pocono community for
years to come. Michelle currently resides in Elmhurst with her two children Kennedy and Conlan
